About Us

I’m a 50‑plus‑year‑old U.S. Navy veteran who spent my career beneath the waves as a submariner. I didn’t accept my orientation until I was 51, and sharing that fact with the veteran circles I’d joined felt uncomfortable. Whether people were right, wrong, or simply indifferent didn’t matter—I sensed a disconnect.

Most members of those groups seemed like they would be indifferent, but indifference isn’t enough when you’re looking for a space where you can truly be yourself. I needed a community where I could discuss veteran life as a queer vet openly and authentically. After searching high and low and finding no existing group that fit, I decided to create one myself.

Thus, Queer Veterans Brew Crew was born—a place where LGBTQ+ service members can gather, share stories, and support each other over a good cup of caffeine.

If you can relate to my story, drop in and enjoy some caffeine. scuttlebutt, and support. We meet once a month.

Date: Third Saturday of each month.

Time: 1000-1200

Place: Our Center, Reno. 1745 S Wells Ave, Reno, NV 89502
